Gran Turismo 6 owners get to test drive the sexiest car ever

Toyota (6)

I may not be a fan of driving cars (four wheels good, two wheels better!), but even I have to admit that some car designs are just sex appeal on wheels. Concept cars are tricked out versions of the future of travel, that the public will never get a chance to drive. Unless they’re playing Gran Turismo 6 that is.

The car porn in question? The Toyota FT-1 Concept Coupe, which was unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit recently. A new update for Gran Turismo 6 should be out later today, as the car will be part of free DLC for players. Free. You hear that, Turn 10?

Once the update is downloaded, players can take part in a unique seasonal event at Laguna Seca where finishing with a bronze medal or better will earn them the car. Or they can just buy it from their closest digital Toyota dealership in the game.

“Thanks to the amazing capability of the Gran Turismo game engine, gamers can enjoy a very real simulation piloting the ultra-high performance FT-1 on the tracks it was designed to master,”  Calty Design Research president Kevin Hunter said to the PSBlog.

If that’s not enough, then here’s some more car smut for you to hang on your walls:

Toyota (1)Toyota (2)Toyota (3)Toyota (4)Toyota (5)Toyota (6)Toyota (7)Toyota (8)Toyota (9)Toyota (10)Toyota (11)Toyota (12)

I’ve got to say, the whole idea of the Toyota Future-One looks like a dream vehicle for me, that I’ll buy when I finally win the powerball jackpot. It’s got “function sculpting” according to its designers and it just oozes pure class and coolness. Sorry McLaren P1, you just got replaced.

I don’t know how many horses are under the hood of this front-engine front-wheel drive beast, but the pony under my bonnet is definitely aroused.

  1. I got the BMW over Christmas. What a zippy little thing, but oh so terrible around corners. So, yeah, I’m pretty keen to see how this baby handles. 😀

The only GT Vision car released so far is the Merc. The BWM that was released was the M4, which is a joy to drive!

FE FWD? Probably not as much as you’d think. It’s hard to put all the power onto the road when you’re using the same tires to steer with heh (Top Gear did a thing on this when they tested the Ford Focus (ST I think?). So most FWD cars top out around ~300.

Definitely an awesome looking vehicle though.

As long as they do the same type of Wizardry that Opel pulled off with the Astra OPC (Same type of dampeners as the Ferrari’s, and an overall amazing suspension) and not what Ford did with the Focus ( using software) then this should be a nice toy.

Fords end result was still something nobody had ever accomplished, a FWD car with 300 HP that you could actually drive around corners is fairly significant.

Still, it’ll be another zippy little Toyote, they’re always fun to drive.

Oh no I was talking about an older top gear, years ago. Wouldn’t be a newer Focus, would be when they first launched the 300hp model. I think it was green or something on top gear, can’t remember.

            January 14, 2014 at 09:40

Yeah, that was the ST500. That thing was a beast.

The current OPC, is 206kw, and corners almost perfectly flat, it was tested in season 20

I dont know, lines are a little too angular, curves dont quite fit, in profile theres something off about the sloping back, really not fond of the intercooler fans or the fact that theyre visible outside the car. Maybe I’m too into the old brit cars of yore.

No i hear what you’re saying, I like the lines, but I wouldn’t like it as an everyday car. You know? It reeks of aggression and speed, not your leisurely plod around the countryside, so I can understand what you mean by being into the old brit cars…not to say they are incapable of aggression and speed lol. Just have a different look/feel to them.

Au contraire, the LFA in my opinion is beautiful but I think its more so in proportion. other than that stupid panel gap (they call it a vent but hey) Agression is fine, but why not bring back decent cars, like the Supra or even the bitchi 3000GT. Theres a lot more heritage in reviving cars like that than making these odd new ones theyre doing today. Lets also remember, what ^was^ the last good looking toyota? The new stuff they have out is awful. And thats a shame considering Lexus is the daughter company, and I cant find too much fault with their design over this.
