Until Dawn 02

I enjoyed Until Dawn when I reviewed it. It lost some of it’s scariness elements before the end for me, and I wasn’t always a fan of the “keep the controller really still” parts of the game, but it a fun experience overall. PlayStation was impressed and surprised by the sales figures for the game, and of course that means we might see something more in the future.

Speaking to PlayStation Lifestyle, executive producer Pete Samuels explained that they’re already working to build on the success of Until Dawn:

I think that you should expect the team to build on what we’ve done with Until Dawn, whether it’s in horror or in other genres. We’re already working on one thing that does that, whilst exploring other avenues for our other teams in anticipation of them finishing their current projects. We do talk internally about what Until Dawn 2 could be, as it clearly can’t be a sequel in the traditional sense, with the same characters facing the same threat, not least of which because in different stories some or all of them are already dead! We’ve investigated other ways we could do Until Dawn 2 but it probably is a little early to be discussing that.

I’m really glad. I think that Until Dawn had some absolutely stellar moments and offered the best interactive storytelling gameplay that you could hope for. If they can take those excellent elements and build upon them, I think we could see the future projects do really well. If you’re still trying to get a sense of the feeling of Until Dawn, PlayStation has pushed a rather cool audio experience.

Looks like a really fun game, I am just worried it’s a bit too short to pay full price. Will wait until it’s on special and pick this up for sure:)

The game is like 8-10 hours long give or take.. Plus with all the different types of out comes I guarantee at least 4 playthroughs before it starts feeling stale…

I always placed my controller on the table before each “hold the controller still section”. Worked like a bomb 😛

As a fan of this genre I really hope we see more of this type of games in the future!

I just held it still, not that hard… you just keep still.

Although I have to admit, at the end of the game I fell for a jump scare while holding it still, SHE DEAD

Mike actually turned out to be the most memorable character in the game. Its amazing how one playthrough can be so different to the other. On my second play I turned him into a real douche and laughed at some of the scenes.

This game gets an Honorable mention on my GOTY 1015 list and enters my top ten games of all time list.

The game is class. Refreshing, original and intelligent. Im on my 4th play and realizing just how well crafted all the story branches are. I have seen 2 different death scenes for one of the characters so far. Also I cant for the life of me give the correct responses to get the horny bimbo into her underwear 🙁

The actors are top class, the facial animation trumps all over LA Noire, the graphics is BETTER than The order and NO BORDERS 🙂 SEE? You can do Cinematic without squashing the game into a letter box slot.

I have heard good things about it. I loved The Walking Dead it was GAME OF THE YEAR 2013…

Yet we now have an even more interactive story driven game with branches that do make huge differences and not there to give you a false sense of choice like Tell Tale does.

Imagine if Until Dawn came out in 2013? The game awards would be CRAZY.

Yeah TWD did piss me off with the ILLUSION of choice especially in episode 5.. If you remember a certain amputation scene… Life is strange has small chices.. like move a girl so she doesnt get thrown with a frisbee and stuff like that.. Most of it is still scripted though…

I will never turn to the dark side… unless we live in the future where all information is free and accessible to everyone via free 12mb uncapped internet lines 🙂
