Driveclub is a prime example of a game launching with the rockiest of starts. But it’s also a fantastic example of a game not only bouncing back after stalling its engine, but genuinely improving on the final product.

Since last year, Driveclub has become a far better racing game. There’s been stacks of updates, new content and plenty of fine vehicles added to the digital garages of some two million players. And that’s just the start, as the game is shifting into second year now.

“Driveclub is gearing up for another big year and we want you to help us shape it,” Evolution community manager Jamie Brayshaw said in a post on the PlayStation Blog.

The community, the game, and the servers are all really strong and there’s plenty of new features and updates coming to the game.

According to Brayshaw, developer Evolution will be throwing more content at the game in monthly updates. As for right now, Brayshaw listed several other features that Evolution were busy working on:

  • Fully customizable multiplayer lobbies
  • New difficulty options
  • More tracks
  • Community events
  • Extra Photo Mode options
  • Fine-tuning for drift mode
  • Smarter notifications

Anyone playing the game right now, is in for a treat. From right damn now until Monday August 24, a double XP event kicks off for the retail and PS Plus versions for the game.

Driveclub really has become a damn fine game. The DNA for a solid racer was there from the beginning, eventually mutating into the racing game of today. Only without unnecessary appendages or an extra eye. If you’re on PS Plus, it’s well worth a download.

  1. These Supercar and Hypercar fest racing games don’t intrigue me much, they start to all feel the same. Too little variety in them.

Never could get the grip on this game… The handling totally ruins it for me.. Feels like I’m driving a car that doesnt have tyres on the rims.

yeah, the cars in the game have tires, not tyres. so maybe you should find that game with cars that have the tyres you’re looking for.

The opponents too! I cant count how many times I was like flying at 240+ KM/H and a freaking car that isnt even close to my level in power or speed over takes me like im looking for parking! Then to add insult to injury he drift the next corner like a boss too!! Where I crash in it because the laws of physics actually apply to me!!.

        “Next gen”.

As much as The Crew is a hyper-arcade game, and you get ridiculous speeds out of ordinary cars, it’s a bloody fun game with friends.

right there I can tell you either 1, never played the game, because all cars in a race are similar in speed. or 2, you never heard of drafting before.

Grammer Nazi? so you really don’t know what drafting is? I wasn’t talking about drifting. I’m saying that people can over take you when they draft behind you, then pull around you and shoot past you.

Difficulty levels? Weird, I thought the game only has one difficulty… IMPOSSIBLE to win!

Still love this game even though most hours are invested in Destiny, Forza horizon 2 and finishing the MCC collection. Never gave up on this game and it turned into such an awesome racer.
