Rainbow Six Siege Gameworks

Nvidia Gameworks has been a contentious issue amongst PC gamers this entire year, with some games exhibiting an affinity to Nvidia hardware when implemented and others showing no such bias. Ubisoft has been using Gameworks extensively for their titles this year, and the recently released Assassin’s Creed Syndicate shows some fair performance across the board. So Gameworks shouldn’t be a problem in Rainbow Six Siege right?

We won’t know that until the game is out next week, but Nvidia have given us a sneak peek at what their exclusive technologies will bring to the multiplayer-only online shooter. It’s pretty standard stuff at this point, with support for TXAA (Temporal Anti-Aliasing), which reduces shimmering at the expense of image crispness. There’s also the fancy HBAO+ shading and my overused downsampling, so that Rainbow Six Siege looks as good as it possibly can on your Nvidia hardware.

It’s not a huge difference, especially for a multiplayer shooter, but they appreciated additions. All anyone on AMD hardware can hope for is parallel performance across their cards too, and none of the performance gaps that led to the controversy surround Gameworks in the first place. If you need a reminder of Siege’s PC specifications, they’re listed below:

There there. No one is really retarded. I am sure when Einstein took the hacksaw to the atom people thought he was a bit retarded as well.

We did? I am sorry. I failed science on lower grade. In fact, in Standard 7 when my science teacher found out I was continuing with science, she raised an eyebrow and said: “Science does not come in lower than lower grade, Mister Prins.”

How can a movie starring a guy called Yahoo Serious NOT be a documentary?

I’m busy downloading the open beta for this as we speak! Hopefully this can scratch the itch that is my desire for a new multiplayer shooter.
