Far Cry 4’s latest patch is now live

Far-Cry-patch

Far Cry 4 was a rarity in gaming this year. Largely stable, and with few issues from day one. That was the Ps4 and Xbox One versions however, with the PC version being a tad bit…iffy. Still, the game had few complaints in that department, and a patch would be actually welcome instead of bemoaned. Here’s what you can expect in the latest title update.

Here’s the full list of patch notes from Ubisoft, which will various graphical fixes and UI improvements:

  • Added 21:9 aspect ratio support
  • Added Russian text and subtitles to worldwide game version
  • Fixed an issue with aim assist
  • Fixed an issue with grappling if aim button was remapped on another key
  • Fixed an issue with mouse input
  • Fixed an issue with movement key binding on mouse buttons
  • Fixed an issue with Uplay invites in Steam version
  • Fixed various Controls issues
  • Fixed various Graphic issues
  • Fixed various IGE issues
  • Fixed various Session Browser issues
  • Fixed various UI issues
  • NVIDIA graphics preset was removed
  • Reduced performance drop impact during streaming

Remember, this is for PC only. Console owners can be all smug about not needing this, at the cost of better graphics and having to deal with technical support. According to some NeoGAF users however, the latest patch has done very little to fix any of the remaining shadowing and stuttering in the game. Which kind of sucks. I’m trying to patch the game on my PC, but I still need to find a way to make it run on a Pentium 486 with super-VGA graphics. As you might imagine, I’m having no luck whatsoever.

Oh right, that’s why I don’t buy games released in 2014, in 2014. I’d forgotten.

You also always wait for the GOTY?

Learned my lesson with Evil Within. No more day one purchases for me. The bargain bin at BT Games and I are good friends 😀

A lot of us do. I find GOTY to be a far better deal at the end of the day for most games.

Yeah, it works nice if you wait about 7 months for the better deal

I saw Fallout 3 GOTY the other day, with all DLC the works for R200. Same store stocked BOTH Borderlands and Borderlands 2 with all their respective DLC as a bundle package for R350. Might be worthwhile to wait for at least a year to buy anything it seems :/

Fixed an issue with grappling if aim button was remapped on another key? Delay the game.

Fixed an issue with mouse input? Delay the game.

Fixed an issue with movement key binding on mouse buttons? Delay the game.

Fixed various Controls issues? Delay the game.

Fixed various Graphic issues? Delay the game.

Fixed various UI issues? Delay the game.

Far Cry 4 released almost a month ago and only now they trying to patch mouse and keyboard issues. You know the shit you actually need to play the game.

Ubisoft needs to fuck off. You telling me that for almost a month that people couldn’t use the mouse and keyboard properly. FUCK.

This is what you get when you support DRM. Don’t support DRM. The Witcher 3 is coming.

I got the game with my new GPU. 32Gig download later = STILL cant play the game! STILL waiting for UPLAY support to get back to me! If any of you know how to fix the error “unable to start the game. Check installed properly otherwise contact support”.
    Great job Ubisoft, great job!

Good luck with that, support hasn’t gotten back to me since launch day. When i eventually got the game installed properly it took me a week to download the day one patch, God knows why. Even then then I couldn’t play the game because Ubi and Nvidia made the game unplayable for AMD users. Then this patch was released along with an update for Uplay. Uplay itself won’t even update let alone Farcry 4. Get your money back if you can, this game is not worth anyone’s time. I’m glad I didn’t pay full price for this game, what a waste it is.

Phew. I was feeling nostalgic and bought a copy of Killzone and I had to endure a 3 gig update. My monthly bandwidth is seriously getting bruised .

This is really not cool. Is’nt it enough that games get released broken (or not what ever reason they have for it not working like it is supposed to. It’s not like we pay them half the money and then a little bit more every so often. Now we have services like UPLAY that we are forced to use even though it does not work. Is it just me or are these companies just doing what ever they want? We need a voice we need these companies to take notice (and respond) I think Lazygamer must be that voice. The website is big enough now? These companies must take notice if websites like you post it, and make it public that we the people that give them our money, will no longer go quite into the night (feeling worked up now). Please guys enough is enough now!

Great game…too bad I can’t play for longer than 15mins without it crashing to desktop. Usually after I’ve opened the map window. Guess I should go back and re-play Far Cry 3, maybe the errors are all ironed out by now. Come to think of it…..ALL Ubisoft titles give me crap…..hmmmmmm….

Shodan you got it right. I’m playing Far Cry 3 now and it works like a charm. And yet I found a couple of glitches, but nothing compared with this crap of FC4 being released when it was not ready and a 45 days later not one single patch fixes the tons of bugs that make it unplayable. Ubi…sucks.
