Sometimes you just have to step back and accept that all your hard work just isn’t helping and some things are simply cursed. I’m starting to feel that about the Zombie survival title WarZ that has now been the centre of a ton of bad blood and have now admitted they have been hacked.. and lost your info.
We’ve covered their past regressions here, here, here and here but this latest one could be the end of them have they have revealed that they have now been hacked and while the payment information has been kept safe they have lost email addresses and passwords.
They are claiming that the passwords are encrypted but if you have a WarZ account I would recommend that you head over there right now and change that password.
You can read their entire announcement here, also be aware that the forums are currently still offline.

Really? Perhaps if these shit developers spent more money on safe-guarding peoples information, and not raping the pockets of purchasers, there wouldn’t be a problem…

You and I seem to be on the oppositte side of most debates here.
But Id be more pissed with the hackers than the company.
I moderate a forum for another game, which was hacked (lucky there was no important account information, like banking details, to hack) and got the passwords of something like 15 000 accounts, all of which had to banned for their own protection “account compromised” etc.
they were given privelages to prove original ownership of the account, but everyone who was logged into by that IP, was banned untill proven innocent.
another time, after a sever DDoS and forum attack as a community event by some hacking forum, they had to roll back the entire forum and game back to an earlier backup as the game and forum accounts are linked.
bottom line is, developers can spend as much cash as they want, to safeguard account information, but hackers will find a way through regardless. they did it to steam, they did it to origin. a dinky little game isnt going to stop a community whose idea of a community event, is to hack a game or forum.

Nah, I was just raging. I don’t like the way the developers have treated their own community one little bit, but I do realise that even the big guns, like SONY, get hacked. Not a cool thing to have happen.
