This one goes out to my fellow Master Race errr species? We love our PC games and they love us right back! This year has seen some awesome PC games, from MMO’s to strategy games to RPG’s and MOBA’s. BUT WHICH TITLE WAS THE BESTEST? It could only have been: *drum roll*

XCOM: Enemy Unknown

Hailed as “Brutal, fatal and exhilarating.” by our very own Wookie in his review where he scored this game a 9/10, XCOM: Enemy Unknown the action strategy game brings you aliens and guns and ammo, lots of ammo and some of the best emotion-filled strategic gameplay this year.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a game for thinkers, but truly draws you in as you become immersed in a world under attack. The game is not just about tactics, you become emotionally invested in your unit and every soldier in it. XCOM: Enemy Unknown has managed to infuse role-play into a strategy game like very few other titles before it have succeeded in.

Being in control of a secret paramilitary organization called XCOM, you, as the XCOM commander will defend against an alien invasion by managing resources, advancing technologies and overseeing combat strategies and individual unit tactics AND most of all…by being awesome!

Honourable mentions:

  • Torchlight II
  • Diablo III
  • Planetside 2
  • DotA 2
  • Guild Wars 2
  • World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria
I like bacon and games, and occasionally I say something coherent about it. I'm not old or cynical, and I'm not the Dork Knight. I AM SHE-RA! Wait, what?
