Valve’s Half-Life series is regularly cited as one of the most influential in all of gaming – and if you haven;t played any of them then you really ought to be hanging your head in shame right now. Shame on you! thankfully, you get to make up for that particular transgression, because you can pick the entire series up for next to nothing.

Right now – and for the next day or so you can pick up every single Half-Life game and expansion, for just $10. The bundle, available on Steam (and just before the Summer Sale kicks off) includes:

  • Half-Life
  • Half-Life 2
  • Half-Life 2: Deathmatch
  • Half-Life 2: Episode One
  • Half-Life 2: Episode Two
  • Half-Life 2: Lost Coast
  • Half-Life: Blue Shift
  • Half-Life: Opposing Force
  • Half-Life: Source
  • Team Fortress Classic

That’s a pretty great deal for the 4 of you who don’t already own The Orange Box, or haven’t already played one of the most definitive first person shooters ever made.

[Tanks to Kaptein Kempff for the tip]

If I buy for you I have first dibs and ANY patent/invention/creation/spawnling you have.

And by spawnling I mean idea not offspring, that you can keep

I’m not sure how that makes me feel.
Who said I want the offspring? Dammit! Maybe I could sell them to pay for the game.

Me buying or me laying claim to any success you will have?

I think both actually. Though the success part is less bothersome, since my successes aren’t likely to be great enough to really be worth much. I’m, for lack of a better phrase, a real lazy gamer. I only focus when I play Battlefield or Company of Heroes. And then much focus goes into not dying.

“A FPS cannot have a story.”

“Have you every played Half Life?”

    “Wut?”

Why no one wants to invest in a FPS as a single player game any more.

And I say unto you, oh brothers and sisters, that any game could and should have a decent single player. Even the first Modern Warfare had a good story. And the people drank of that, and felt whole.

The only Half Life worth playing is the 1st one really…Blue shift was like half an hour long…Opposing Force was pretty much more of the 1st one…and don’t even speak about HL2…

It was a milking of the series and seemed outdated at the time of release…Nice nostalgia trip perhaps but nothing more,,, imo

I think you are drinking your bath water, imo. But hey, if you didn’t like a brilliant game, then who am I to judge.

          In any case, moving on.

outdated at the time of release? 0_o.

I have to kindly disagree. Half Life 2 was praised at that time for being one of the best graphical games to date and was very well received.

That was just the general public view. My personal view is even better of the game. It was amazing!

Yes Opposing forces and blue shift weren’t all that amazing, but let’s be honest those were simply expansions back in an age where all game expansions were short and rather meh since digital distribution wasn’t as big back then.

But I would definitely not say it was milking the series
