Rambow-Six-jokes-never-get-old

Rainbow Six Siege, a video game adaptation of the 1998 Bruce Willis film according to the dodgiest of my sources, will soon be here. It’ll be rocking out on a pair of console platforms, but it looks like it might be a PC heavyweight to me. It’s clearly geared towards that audience, and it’s going to have a fight on its hands when it tries to sway them away from Counter-Strike and its lethal foot-stabs.

Here’s what you’ll need to run it on that platform:

Minimum

  • OS: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64 bit versions required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 560 @ 3.3 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 945 @ 3.0 GHz
  • RAM: 6GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD 5870 (DirectX-11 compliant with 1GB of VRAM)
  • DVD ROM Drive: Dual Layer
  • Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card with latest drivers
  • Hard Drive: 30GB
  • Multiplayer: Broadband connection with 256kbps upstream or faster

Recommended

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64bit versions required)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.3 GHz or better or AMD FX-8120 @ 3.1 Ghz or better
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 (or GTX760 / GTX960) or AMD Radeon HD 7970 (or R9 280x [2GB VRAM] / R9 380 / Fury X)
  • DVD ROM Drive: Dual Layer
  • Sound: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card 5.1 with latest drivers
  • Hard Drive: 47GB
  • Multiplayer: Broadband connection with 512kbps upstream or faster

Supported video cards at release

  • Nvidia: GeForce GTX460 or better, GTX560 or better, GTX650 or better, GTX750 or better, or any card from the GT900 and Titan Series
  • AMD: Radeon HD5870 or better, HD6870 or better, HD7770 or better, R7 260X or better, or any card from the R-300 series and Fury X

Developer notes:

Laptop models of these cards may work but are not supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game. Additional chipsets may be supported after release. For an up-to-date list of supported chipsets, visit the FAQ.

And here’s what you’ll need to run it on console:

PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

  • Friends. I’m so lonely, dammit.

That’s a fairly large install size as well, but a flexible set of requirements. I think. I’m a bit worries that the game may not run on my Pentium II 400MHZ PC. Rainbow Six Siege drops on the first day of the final month.

  1. The only reason I’d even play this is so I can run around solo shouting “I’m just the cook!”.

You’ll also need Uplay in terms of software.
And you’ll need to forget everything you ever knew about Rainbow Six.

I wonder if they have a slogan for it yet?

I’d go with: Uclub seals the deal!

Did you see Steam is full Randelas now?
Some games are cheaper, some are the same.
When you buy something it also has little small print notes EVERYWHERE now.

Your gif said what I wanted to. 😀
Though my client still says “Uplay” I think it’s just that your membership is now at a Uclub account.

I wonder. Will Steam accept empty Coke Bottles for a game? This is South Africa after all. (I miss my childhood. No. Not really. I was reduced to stealing empty coke bottles to feed my gaming addiction. My life sucks.)

I think we all had the trolley and miele meel bag full of crushed cans when we were kids. Well I had since I wasn’t given things when I asked for it. Taught all of us that did it the value of things.
