Navel Strike?

Battlefield 4’s Naval Strike DLC is out today for those who’ve subscribed to Battlefield Premium. Just not if you play the game on PC. DICE and EA have decided to delay the add-on for master racers, as they’ve stumbled upon a bit of a quality issue.

“…we are delaying the launch of Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC. We’ve detected an issue and it needs to be solved,” DICE says on the Battlefield Blog.

The reason for the delay is one of quality.

“Quality is our number one priority and we will not release Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC until we feel it meets the highest quality level possible. We are also working on a larger update to release alongside Battlefield 4 Naval Strike on PC that will address the issue of Tablet Commander not working correctly. Once we have a confirmed date for PC, we’ll be sure to update those players on our official channels. We appreciate your patience and look forward to seeing everyone on the Battlefield.”

Funny that, because if their focus really was on quality, Battlefield 4 wouldn’t have been released in the shoddy state it was in October last year.

Naval Strike adds four new maps to the game, detailed below:

  • Lost Islands: Blow open a crashed passenger plane and capture fishing villages across these tropical islands.
  • Wave Breaker: Drop a submarine on your foes as you infiltrate a naval base or rush between shipping docks and rocky islands on this massive map.
  • Nansha Strike: Wage war across stormy seas in the largest ocean stretch in a Battlefield map yet.
  • Operation Mortar: Storm an abandoned cliff-side resort, or get lost in the breathtaking vistas in this map.

It also marks the spiritual return of Battlefield 2142‘s Titan mode in Carrier Assault, where players will now have to destroy the enemy carrier before they’re able to do the same to yours.

There’s no word on when the DLC will be available for PC gamers.

Looking forward to this pack! I rather wait for a working pack than one where my tank shell magically disappears an inch away from someones face 😛

And the fact that my COD:Ghosts has 40 min play time on shows that I rather wait for a working game that I will most definitely have fun with.

Reminds me of when was playing BF3. Noob was sniping from afar and one guy in my team was taunting him jumping up and down and bullet hits wall quite a distance away, So I laugh my ass off and then get a head shot from him. Own team mate teabagged me.

Usually stick C4 on a chopper and just kamikaze into a snipers nest.

I think I’ve only got 20 mins. on my CoD:Ghosts SP and maybe 30 mins MP… thus far I just couldn’t justify playing it and the MP jitter/lag is simply too infuriating (no idea whether they’ve fixed that yet). And with Dota 2, D3:RoS, Titanfall, Hearthstone, BF4 and TESO (soon) I doubt whether I’ll actually play CoD again this year…

No need to jump ship if you’re going to be treading water when it’s gone

I have, three times already. However EA have such a draconian refund policy it was impossible to get my money back. Refunds are valid: 7 days after purchase or release excluding DLC.

I bought premium for BF3 and what a waste of money. The servers were empty about 3 weeks after the dlc release. Unless you are going to play on international servers it won’t be worth it in my opinion.

As I’ve said before, DicEA has actually done wonders, they’ve convinced me via Battlefield 4 never to buy another Battlefield game again. I mean… as a former diehard BF fan (who defended BF3), that’s quite a feat.

Which region are you in? I checked on the store this morning, and I could download it. Otherwise, check again this evening. Usually Tuesdays are PSN and PSN store maintenance days.
