Is there any game that has managed to stand the test of time as well as Contra has? It’s most likely a game that everyone has played, especially of those of us here locally who grew up with the infamous Golden China console. But two buttons and a D-pad were more than enough for this masterpiece. Tight action, amazing levels and bosses who would take your spread-gun to the limit and back again.
Fortunately, the ever-handy Konami Code made Contra a suicidal blast of fun. It’s a code that is most likely hammered into your DNA by now, and something that I desperately wish would work in real life. But everyone looks at me like I’m some kind of a madman when I look up twice, look down twice and start jumping around…
