Tomorrow is Halloween. Seeing as I’m not Darryn, figuring out a costume is always a bit of a struggle, but it appears that this year I’ll be going as a zombie or vampire school girl. You know, just with bits and pieces I have around the house. Because there really is nothing more fun than celebrating the day when ghosts supposedly walk among us.

In Other News: Anita Sarkeesian talks to Stephen Colbert, Kim Kardashian makes too much money and nightmarish NBA2K15 face scans make excellent Halloween masks.

Here’s all the news we didn’t post today because we were too busy fighting awful traffic and wondering if Geoff has Ebola.

Not sure which is more confusing #Gamergate or feminism. According to gamergate they are about ethics in journalism according to feminists it is about being horrible to woman. According to feminists feminism is about equal rights for woman but according to gamergate it is about hating men.

Amazing how the minority who speak on behalf of the rest can confuse the issue.

I actually thought this whole died out months ago.

Basically 2 very vocal fringe groups taking part in a very public mudslinging match while the rest of us debate more important things like not reaching 60fps and 1080p, DRM and why Nvidia is the best-est.

Serious note: unless they are breaking laws (ie child porno etc) a developer should be free to develop what the hell he/she likes, be it no women, women with naked DD with super jiggle FX or a realistic strong female protagonist and let the market decide. If they go overboard the game will not sell. If feminist groups (people who feel strongly about it and not female gamers) are as big and strong as they claim their combined economic buying power should will be enough change game development.

How can you say this, this will lead to woman have breast augmentation surgeries in order to live up to this unrealistic image portrayed on them by men you play video games. Can you just imagine a world where that happens.

In Geoff’s final moments of suffering, he decides to throw away his ideals and beliefs. The Gods have forsaken this poor Asian. In that moment of vulnerability, he decides to gamble his final moments of being alive with something he swore he would never do…Geoff decides to he will use Homeopathy to treat his Ebola infection…And by some miracle…by some divine intervention…it doesn’t cure anything, and Geoff passes on.

    R.I.P Geoff….You were right.

WRT the top 5 Silent Protagonists, I really feel Isaac Clarke needs a mention. Dude went through some freaky stuff in Dead Space 1 without saying a word.

I preferred that to all the hopelessly bad dialogue in DS2 & 3. Not that the actor (Gunner something?) was bad, not in the slightest, I just preferred his lines limited to grunts and screams.

Silent protagonists in games? I wish that someday someone will make a proper GI Joe game, with Snake Eyes as the ONLY protagonist.

Oh man, the Colber Repor, how amusing is that. although I prefer Jon Oliver and Jon Stewart (who produces Colbert Report) as more sort of suiting my humour.

Yea, I know, but I still like the original. Um, or not. I prefer Oliver. And Oliver is on a different US network, i.e. competitor to Stewart. Very funny episode when it was announced on the Stewart show. It was great to see the huge respect they had and have for each other.

I think Sarkeesian is riding the popularity wave for her own gain and interest as much as she can stoking the “Gamergate scandal ” fire and feeding the trolls to the detriment to image of gamer community as a whole. Most of her objections to games should be sorted via the free market system.

But oi comments like that, take solace in the fact the these cretins although vocal are a small minority.
