The good, the bad and the ugly of the past week (1 July 2016)

I miss Matty. He usually writes the words that go here, but first he was at E3, and then he went off for a week of wine and craft beer among hipsters. Doesn’t he know he has work to do? Oh well, at least you still have us. We will never leave you, even when you wish we would.

Best Story

Good news, LEGO Dimensions is finally coming to South African shores. While it’s definitely pricey, it’s not nearly as pricey as the gray-market versions brought in last year. Speaking of money, if you already bought BioShock or BioShock 2 on Steam, you’ll be getting a free copy of the remastered version. Winning!

Also, if you’re playing Alienation, couch co-op is coming very very soon.

Worst Story

Sorry Batman fans, you know that awesome remaster you only just found out about but were so excited for? It’s been delayed. Indefinitely. Plus, if you were hoping for your Xbox One to help you get into shape, it’s not going to happen anymore – Xbox is getting rid of their fitness program.

G2A sounds so shady, even these attempts to resolve the situation sound pretty awful. I’m not sure what to think anymore, but as much as I like cheap games I think I’m going to stick to buying them from sources I can trust.

Random Story

You know what we really need? Don’t worry about representation in gaming, or games living up to their hype, or better pricing for games here in South Africa. No, what we really need is Final Fantasy VII Monopoly.
