Wii Sniper Rifle Gun Exists. Am I surprised?

For the love of all things covered in delicious milk chocolate, this exists. Peripheral and accessory makers CTA Digital have announced and released the a Sniper Rifle Gun for Wii – which includes a removable stock and barrel, magazine tube, sniper scope, and stand. All of which are completely devoid of any functionality.

The scope even, is purely for cosmetic purposes, because it’s “not intended for gaming accuracy.” The gun has space for a Wiimote as well as the Motion Plus accessory, even though none of the games the gun can be used with – Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Medal of Honor: Vanguard, Resident Evil 4, Ghost Squad, and Ultimate Duck Hunting -  has motion plus support.

I can’t  emphasise enough how stupid this is. The Wii pointer doesn’t work like a lightgun, so even if you were stupid enough to shell out the $39.99 (R295) asking price you’d find yourself pointing at targets other than the one you want to actually shoot at. Also why the hell does it come with a bipod stand? Who the effing eff plays games lying prone on the floor?

I hate you Nintendo, I hate you for making it so that companies like this exist, and that their proprietors don’t need to get real jobs like the rest of us.
