May people have been wondering just when Call of Duty – which started out with World War 2, then jumped to modern times and later still to a near future – would jump the shark entirely and go to space. According to the official Call of Duty: Ghosts single player trailer, a little earlier than expected. Here’s that trailer, showing soldiers floating about in space. And yes, firing rifles in a zero-gravity environment.
It’s actually pretty laughable – but I don’t care. I have a soft spot for Call of Duty’s ridiculously over-the-top popcorn entertainment single player campaigns. Suspension of disbelief? I be having it.
Call of Duty: Ghosts launches on November 5 for PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360. It will also be a launch title for PS4 on November 15 and on Xbox One when it launches in the US on November 22.

Gun fire is space with modern day ammunition is very possible.
The propellant in bullets contain an oxidizer since the bullets are completely sealed to maximize effectiveness and make them waterproof.

I always look past the “sound in space” problem in movies and games, this is where going against realism ads to the experience. If you follow the same rules in Star Trek and Star Wars you end up with a silent Charlie Chaplin movie in space.

I do actually agree with you. I too quite go off topic..almost all the time, but I do often wonder if this causes the barrier of entry for new comers to become to hard to enter. We all know each other and sometimes forget this is a public forum about games that people that are not regulars would like to comment too. True, but often we end up in a direction that is nowhere near what the article is about. So it is quite intimidating for newcomers. It’s not that we have to be strict and stay on topic all the time, but it is nice for new comers to come to the site and comment about the game as opposed to wondering why Rince is talking shit about my mum

I get what you’re saying. Personally I stop paying much attention once the comments go over the 100 mark or once the article is a bit older, unless I’m actively involved or someone has replied to one of my ramblings. Find the most on-topic stuff is said early.
That said while there is off-topic stuff (sometimes a lot I’ll grant you) it’s rarely in poor spirit & I’d be more sad to see it go because for me it makes the site seem more alive & welcoming.

I also like the SP campaign. Always did. But it so short and linear. Usually I rent the game on Saturday morning and I can breeze through the whole campaign and have the game back at the store before church starts on Sunday. Won’t surprise me at all if COD does goes Titanfall and drop the SP all together

They really do.
I remember watching an interview with them when they did Meteora and Mike said that it’s always been important for them to maintain their unique sound so people will immediately know it’s them when the song comes on…guess that didn’t last.

Okay, I am not attacking you just for the record: But that is a shame if you got talents you are not using. I had the same issue, and for years it bugged me, until I took a step back from gaming and got back into writing a bit more. It also helped me enjoy gaming more as well, as I am now very selective in what I buy and play, as I only allow myself x amount of hours playing a week.

And as for facts on joining the army. Can’t join SADF even though I tried, thanks to certain policies. (Wanted to join the Air Force) Applied for British Army Air Corps, but decided against it, not wanting to fight a war I don’t support. Don’t get me wrong, I understand that whole point of join the army blah die blah, a game is just a game, I just don’t like games like COD, which actually had a pretty believable story in the original MW, going crazy like Medal of Honor did with sci-fi based story lines all of a sudden… Personal taste I guess

I suppose this makes sense. If you are going head to head with Titan Fall you are going to have to bring something crazy to the table. I think we are in for a treat this next generation either way. Luckily we do not have an IT department we do everything ourselves so have all root passwords; mostly it is for online and gaming accounts where you have stupid limits on special characters or max length.

Ja I also wondered why the firing of rifles in space is laughable. The weapons do not need outside oxygen to word since the powder in the projectile has its own oxidizer. Heck you can even shoot a gun under water. You will only be able to do it once since the gun will explode and take your hand(s) with it, but it can be done.
