If there’s one thing that gaming attracts, it’s talent. Skilled people from all walks of life have contributed to this medium in one way or another, and that’s something that really shines in the voice acting department. So, who had the best vocal chords to create a believable performance this year? That answer, was easy as the award goes to…
…David Eddings aka Claptrap!
Cast your mind to Borderlands, and you’d be hard pressed not to think of Claptrap first. Originally a bit player in the first game, his role was expanded here to a more substantial part filled with terror, insults, revenge and a severe loathing of stairs.
It’s also one of the funniest damn performances in recent years, and we’re all proud to have been unwittingly enlisted as a minion for that menchanical bastard at the end of the day. We’re also pretty pleased that he’s the last Claptrap alive after his product line was wiped out, lest a whole warehouse of them slowly force our brain cells to commit suicide one by one.
