Neil Gaiman's video game coming soon

Neil Gaiman used to have a cult following, but has also acquired a more mainstream following in recent years.  The author of the Sandman graphic novels, Coraline and American Gods is now shifting his attention to making a video game.  If his books are anything to go by, we can expect something ridiculously original and creative.

Because he is brilliant and I’m madly in love with him, I think Neil (I met him at a signing, we’re totally on a first name basis) can explain it best:

Teaming up with The Odd Gentlement and Moonshark, Wayward Manor will be an idiosyncratic gaming experience.  According to the site:

Set in a 1920s Victorian Gothic pastoral estate, Wayward Manor focuses on the plight of a ghost whose hope of a peaceful after-life is interrupted by a remarkable cast of intruders. Awoken from his post-mortem slumbers, our ghost must find ever-more inventive and brilliant ways to scare them away. As the ghost learns more about the living characters, he also learns more about his own death and after-life, and the danger they are all facing.

They are looking for funding, but not doing your usual Kickstarter page.  Instead, there is a store, for now, where you can pre-order the game, go to a swanky party or even have dinner with Neil.  I now need to get a second mortgage so that I can go to dinner with him.  Unless anyone wants to sponsor me?  Please, I will declare my undying love for you… It’s only $10 000, plus airfare.

The game will be coming to PC, Mac and tablets later this year.  Until then, I’ll just have to contain my multiple geek-gasms.

So, will they be getting Michael Keaton to provide the voice for Beetlejuice?

I have the Absolute Death and Sandman collection. Man is a legend in his own right. Hell if I had 100K Randelas, I’d so be there :/
