Antichamber

The world needs more games like Antichamber! It’s the most colourful “dafuq did I just see” thingon the planet, but in a really good way. I must have this game, and so must you.

If there were ever a good WTF moment in my life, it was when I saw Antichamber. No really, it’s right there in the video at 0:38. This mind-bending psychological exploration game has been raking in awards and interest from the industry because of its awesomeness. The game is releasing on 31 January on Steam. According to the game description:

“Players will discover an Escher-like world where hallways wrap around upon each other, spaces reconfigure themselves, and accomplishing the impossible may just be the only way forward.”

Let’s take a look at the features:

  • A deeply psychological experience that will make the player question everything they know about games. – Pretty much already doing this after the teaser.
  • Mind-bending challenges that will subvert the player’s expectations at every twist and turn. – Can’t wait!
  • An enormous, seamless non-Euclidean world for players to explore with several hundred unique and unusual puzzles to solve. – Already lost.
  • Lifelike soundscapes developed by Robin Arnott and an ambient soundtrack composed by Siddhartha Barnhoorn. – Let’s hope it doesn’t sound like it looks.
  • A gun that can create, destroy and manipulate matter, allowing the player to discover new ways to overcome their surroundings. – give it to me now! Before it falls into the wrong hands and the world is threatened by an evil mastermind.
