SimCity doesn’t exactly ring popular with those still sore over the botched PC launch last year. Another tune that doesn’t sit well with most people is EA on mobile platforms, especially after what they pulled with Dungeon Keeper. So what would happen if two of the most unpopular headaches in recent memory combined? SimCity BuildIt happens.
EA has just revealed a new Simcity title exclusively built for mobile platforms. The new game will launch on iPhone, iPad and Android later this month, and feature all the building fun you could possible hope for on the go. At least, that’s what EA is trying to sell it as.
There aren’t many details yet, other than the fact that you’ll be able to build, craft and destroy your cities on the go. That’s pretty much what I’d expect from a mobile SimCity spin-off, but there’s no word yet on how the game is going to be sold or monetized. That’s the real kicker isn’t it?
EA describes the game as the perfect solution for intrepid builders on the go.
The choices you make evolve your city in a variety of ways. Meet your citizens’ needs to keep them happy, or make questionable choices and feel your citizens’ wrath.
I’m pretty sure my “citizen’s wrath” means little when I can wipe out blocks of buildings as I please, but that’s just my sadistic bastard side showing. If you’ve really felt the need to build things on the go, then this may be the perfect app for you, if EA doesn’t try to extort your first born in exchange to play.

It’ll sell like hotcakes if you can build EAs HQ in the game.
