Rise of Iron 2

Update: The first trailer has already leaked. Thanks SnapChat!

After a while, any game tends to drag. Unless you’re Matty and you’re still playing Cookie Clicker, but that’s besides the point. What I’m saying, is that any game can become stale after a while. There’s only so much that you can do, before you hit that malaise and start going through the motions. It’s a problem that I’ve had with Destiny over the last couple of months, as the current dangling of a carrot on a stick just hasn’t been enough.

Maybe I’m spoiled, but an extra bit of Light and a handful of new weapons that I’ll never get my hands because the Crucible RNG is a total dick, just aren’t enough. It’s a feeling that I had after the first set of DLC add-ons, which The Taken King expansion fixed wonderfully. But a few dozen hours again, and like a tween millennial I’m already bored and demanding more.

Rise of Iron looks like another taste of the familiar, and by the shiny orb of the Traveller I want more. Destiny kicks off a livestream tonight detailing this new Rise of Iron expansion, details of which have already been leaked because of course it has. Thanks to the Xbox Store jumping the gun, and captured by Reddit, here’s what you can expect to see tonight when the expansion is announced for a September 20 release:

Rise of Iron

Destiny: Rise of Iron is the next highly anticipated expansion to the Destiny universe. The wall which stood for centuries along the southern border of Old Russia has collapsed. Fallen mutants now scavenge the tombs of the Golden Age, and the plague they have unearthed in the wastes is more dangerous than even they understand. Join Lord Saladin. Journey into the Plaguelands. Learn the fate of the Iron Lords and stop the growing threat before it is too late.

Includes:

  • New Story Campaign & Quests
  • New Armor and Gear
  • New Weapons
  • New Raid
  • Maximum Light Increase
  • New Strike
  • New Plaguelands Zone & Social Space
  • New Crucible Mode & Maps
  • New Enemy Faction and Bosses

That sounds…frikkin’ awesome. For lapsed players, having a new zone and new enemies to encounter in Destiny is something that can usually add an easy 30-40 hours of value to Destiny. According to Kotaku’s usually reliable Destiny sources, the Rise of Iron expansion will have another Fallen-themed Raid, but this time the scavenging bastards have been mutated. Sort of like that guy from the first Robocop movie I’d guess, except far less squishy.

Filthy mutants! Make Destiny great again! Rebuild that wall!

Keep it installed until Destiny 2, just to be safe.

You Beat me to that. yes Bunged Gee will once again ask you to Purchase the game for the third effing time only for them to take out previous content that you have now paid for twice and add more bugs. I loved this game, but have not touched it since the Taken king.

It’s ironic that they’re called Bungie seeing how you people install, delete, reinstall, delete, reinstall the game. just like a Bungee cord XD
