So, a funny thing happened on social media at the end of last week, and it’s a real deal. It all started when the guys from Super 2-bit made a video. This prompted a response from Darryn. Of course, everyone thought this was hilarious, and wanted to see it happen for real. Now, it will.
For those who might have missed it, it all started with this video.
Now, a bit of background. I firmly believe that I arranged a marriage between Darryn and Sam from TechGirl. However, Sam remembers it a bit differently:
[…] based on my fantastic dating history it takes very little to impress me. Darryn fromLazygamer remembered my favourite song back in 2014 and dedicated it to me on my birthday. That’s more effort than most of my exes have gone to. Needless to say I declared my undying love for him online and we some how ended up married on Twitter.
After we saw the video from Super 2-bit and Sam, we told Darryn that his wife had gone rogue, or perhaps been abducted. Of course he couldn’t take this lying down.
People went mad for this in the comments section with everyone having all kinds of fun ideas of what we could do with them. People on twitter also went mental, gaining momentum and making me laugh all day. Would Dave go and hide from the evil Batman? Of course not.
And just like that, it became official. The national Mortal Kombat X Cup will have an epic opening battle as Darryn and Dave battle it out. PlayStation is now promoting it on their Facebook page and twitter and it’s all a giant laugh. We have plans, oh do we have plans for Darryn’s training. If you’re on social media and want to support him, just remember that we’re on #TeamD, not #TeamDK.
I know many of you are planning on competing and making it to the finals as a champion, but just in case, be sure to register as a spectator over here so that you don’t miss out on this epic battle for Sam’s heart. Or a Scorpion bubblehead. I’m a bit confused about what they’re fighting for seeing as neither has any pride or dignity, but we’ll think of something.
