Reuters UK is reporting today that you will now be able to buy games as well as music via YouTube. Google, who owns YouTube has featured quite a lot in the rumour mill lately concerning it’s interest in the video game market.
How it’s going to work is simple, lets say you search for a Resident Evil 5 trailer, there will now be buttons beneath the video that link you to amazon when you can purchase the game. It’s a clever move on Googles part to actually get some revenue in from YouTube, which does rely heavily on advertising.
You will also be able to buy music, concert tickets and DVDs in the same manner.

“there will now be buttons beneath the video that link you to amazon when you can purchase the game”
Doesn’t this actualy mean you purchase it at amazon and not google? Isn’t this just a type of advertising?

you could maybe see it that way, but it does essentialy make you tube a store in a way as the click through to amazon (or wherever) will take you strait to the product page so its more of an amagamation of the sites with youtube acting more as the store front.
