Yes, that’s right! You can go here and register your interest for the TitanFall beta.
Now as for your chances of getting in, I’m not so sure about, but hey, you can try. You’ll need to pick either Xbox One or PC to register your interest for the beta. Then you play the waiting game and they will email you no later than 11:59 PM PST on February 17th to tell you that you haven’t gotten in.
But give it a shot, you never know, perhaps you’ll be one of the few who gets in and then you can laugh at me for doubting you. Respawn’s TitanFall certainly looks very promising. Free running gun combat with giant mechs sounds like a winning combination to me. Seats are apparently limited so if you want your foot in the door you better sign up right now.
Ok, so are you back from signing up to the beta? Good! Let me run you through the official beta trailer. The trailer starts off with slowly panning logos, as usual, then the black screen opens up as a character from a first person perspective jumps out of a titan presumably. The HUD is the standard floaty augmented reality looking thing with a map in the top left and weapons in the bottom right.
The player starts out with a “Smart Pistol MK5” with a silencer. In the bottom left there is 53 seconds counting down and seems to be the attrition game mode which pits two factions against each other, one kidnapping hostages, the other trying to save said hostages.
The game then cuts to a montage showing the wall running and double jumping on foot, as well as mech combat, which seems to have a gravity gun style weapon to throw objects at people. Hanging off ledges and hijacking Titans is also possible. Overall, the game looks fantastic and I reckon it’ll be an absolute blast to play.
