WWE 2K15 old-gen review round-up

I’M AFRAID I’VE GOT SOME BAAAAAAAAAD NEWS FOR YOU! WWE 2K15 is promising to revitalise the sports entertainment genre with rivalries, updated rosters and visuals that you can most definitely see. Provided that you’re getting a current-gen version that is. But if you’re stuck with an older console (A running theme today it seems), then you might be in for a WWE game that’s about to lay some Sweet Chin Music on your moderate expectations.

Bleacher Report – 76/100

2K15 (3)

If WWE 2K15 on current-gen systems has a major flaw, it’s in the fact that there’s nothing really new to see here. That said, the franchise is transitioning away from the old consoles. It’s totally understandable if gamers who have current- and next-gen systems decide to wait until Nov. 18, but this isn’t a throwaway effort.

Game Informer – 70/100

2K15 (2)

This version of WWE 2K15 works if you’re not planning on buying a new-gen console anytime soon, are a big fan of the careers of the four leads, would like to play the exclusive Who Got NXT mode, and like the mechanics just the way they are. Custom creators, on the other hand, might as well continue to build up their creations on 2K14.

IGN – 59/100

2K15 (1)

Do yourself a favor, save your money, and buy WWE 2K14. The minor improvements to combat and commentary in 2K15 don’t even come close to making up for what was lost.

Cheat Code Central – 50/100

Smaller roster, fewer options, and a disjointed single-player make this less impressive than previous WWE titles.

THOSE REVIEWS DONE BROKE THE GAME IN HALF! 50/100? THERE AIN’T NO GETTING BACK UP FROM THAT KING! We’ll hopefully have our hands on the (assumedly) better, shinier game when it arrives next month. After all, I need to create Bad News Bonthuys and start laying down my finishing move, the Harumph.

Quick, use the face capture technology used in this game on the devs when they see the scores, capture every emotion.

Can’t see the PS4 and XBO versions being better. Shinier graphics maybe, but why would gameplay differ from the old gen.

The PS4/X1 versions are developed by a completely different studio. Don’t know if the missing modes will stay missing but the Gameplay will be drastically different and the character models will be much more detailed.

Not only that say for example, ps4 version is better, the roster is still rubbish, the game play is still rubbish, features are still missing, and also if the ps4 does have better game play, batter roster, and better career mode etc, then that’s not fair on ps3 users. the worse thing about this game, is there has been to attempt to improve visuals for ps3 version at all, there has been no attempt to satisfy any ps3 user at all, I could understand the the small roster, if they had put loads of time and effort into making the wrestlers Look flawless but that’s not the case with ps3, they are exactly the same as last year, so why have they not taken the time to add wrestlers from last year for the ps3, that would compensate for lack of visual Improvements on ps3. But they haven’t they have basically stuck the middle finger up at ps3 users, and might as well have said, we don’t give a shit about you ps3 users. They have not thought of ps3 users at all, it makes no sense to have released this game for ps3, when there is no Improvement what so ever in fact it’s no where near as good as 2k14. The only reason they have created this game for ps3 is for the money simple as that, they have simply ripped off all ps3 users who have purchased the game.

WWE 2K15 will be better on next gen. Why do you think they delayed it? They are putting their effort into the next gen game. The graphics will be be better, and we’ll have career mode. Do you have a next gen console, if not you shouldn’t say it won’t me better on the next gen. The roster will also be better on next gen too. The last gen doesn’t even get the My Career general managers. They just cranked this version of the game out so you people on the last gen will have something to do.

They delayed it for no reason pretty much because the gameplay videos are already showing up on YouTube and the same missing modes from last-gen are missing on current-gen. The only things “new” are MyCareer and Edit Superstar. Graphics don’t count as new because it’s new hardware so of course the renders will be more detailed.
