World class showdown at the Call of Duty Championship
In just nine days the top 32 Xbox 360 Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 teams from around the world will compete in the inaugural Call of Duty Championship in Hollywood for a share of the $1 million prize purse.
Teams competing qualified through tournaments including Major League Gaming’s Winter Championship in Dallas, TX, Electronic Sports League’s Call of Duty: Black Ops II European Championship in Cologne, Germany, and the Australian Cyber League’s tournament in Sydney. Team XtaZ from South Africa will face off against teams from countries such as Germany, France, Sweden, UK and the USA and is doing everything they can to be prepared for the event.
“We are going on what we call “a heavy grind”. We will be trying to fit in as much practice as possible before we leave. On the weekend just before our departure, Frostbite and I will be flying down to Cape Town so we can meet up with the Eos and Hazardz to do some LAN practice, as well as possibly using the Mcave to play against Europeans on a decent connection.” said Gregory “Ph0bia” Dutche in an interview.
