As much as I love Star Wars, I have to be honest and admit, that there aren’t too many cool characters spread throughout the various films. Sure, you’ve got Han Solo, Lando, Darth Vader and the Emperor (Who I do a wicked cool impersonation of), as well as…uh, well, that’s it really.
Obi-Wan was kind of a stiff, Luke was a complaining prim donna and his pre-burn ward father was often confused for assorted pieces of wood with feathered hair. Besides, who wants to play as a goodie two-shoes all the time?
Naturally, Lucasarts is gearing up to make a new Star Wars game, and after having botched the second Force Unleashed title, they might be planning on using a more amoral character, a certain bounty hunter who hopefully, won’t have jetpack issues when he arrives.
Lucasfilm recently filed a trademark for “Star Wars 1313”, for a future game. A little internet digging, reveals that this code, was once used by Boba Fett as an alias, when the galaxy knew him as CT-1313.
Take this detective work with a few midichlorians however, as it is pure speculation right now. Still, the idea of playing as the notorious bounty hunter would make for a great break from the usual Jedi shenanigans of recent Star Wars games.
It’s not the first time that we’ve had a chance to play as a member of the Fett clan either, with big daddy Jango Fett taking a starring role back in 2002, in Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. But imagine a third-person action game that takes advantage of new gameplay ideas, and most importantly, jet-packs.
The force might be strong with this one.
