FIFA-netxgen

FIFA 14 is hitting next gen tomorrow; at least for the PS4. It’ll be a launch title for the Xbox One when its released in the UK and US later this week. For those who’re already playing the latest version of the beautiful game on their current systems, is there any real reason to upgrade?

This dev-diary for the next gen versions of the game certainly seem to suggest as much. Here’s the first, with FIFA devs explaining how the next generation has enabled them to make the whole thing more immersive, thanks to more realistic and reactive crowds and stadia.

Plus, the rest of it all looks quite nice too. And here’s one that won’t end up being better on PC; that fancy Ignite engine won’t be hitting PC versions of EA sports games any time soon.

Any of you FIFA nuts ready to dip your toes in for a second, shinier version of what’s essentially the same game?

That’s a good price. I’d be able to get a second game. I’m afraid to get Knack. I think with 1 kidney that game could somehow kill me.

Never looked at it. What’s it about?

I’m thinking Fifa14 or Black Flag. I mean Previously Disadvantaged Flag

Sorta like Jak and Daxter but probably not gonna be as good. Maybe worth getting it second hand or when its R200.

It will include it. Mostly Storm (like the weather in CT). Since you’re a squirrel, i’m willing to throw my right nut in for free.

As much as I am a HUGE! Fifa fan I def wont be shelling out for the same game for a 2nd time, I’ll rather keep enjoying Fifa 14 on my current console, and get the proper next gen version Fifa 15 next year.

I don’t see any difference in the Next Gen game. Liverpool still did not score. 🙁

From a graphics standpoint, they’re still not full grasping convincing atmospheric effects.

The stadium lighting has no haze or realistic glare from light sources. Lens flares are okay, but they are an overlay; it doesn’t feel like there is a huge stadium around the players when down at pitch level.

I currently hate Fifa 14…. I am considering taking it back, I swear there is something very wrong with the game!! But it would seem that it is only me who thinks so… Played 13 on my Xbox yesterday and it felt fine, but 14 has the worst AI for defenders that I can remember… They just stand there or run away when the other guy makes a deep pass!!
So to answer your question: Hell yes I am getting it on next gen cause I currently hate it!! And hope that it will be better on PS4 than on PS3…..
Am I completely wrong? Is the game fine? I am starting to worry about myself here….
