We already know that the Pc version of action-horror Dead Space 3 will be little more than a port of the console versions, without much in the way of PC-centric enhancements, such as Direct X 11 support. Dead Space director Steve Papoutsis is shocked that people even care, and you PC gamers should pretty much be happy that you’re getting the game in the first place.

It’s all about parity. Visceral wants everybody to experience the same game (even though the Xbox 360 version features Kinect support, making it somewhat different from the other ones), even if that means Pc games will end up with an inferior experience.

"It’s confusing to me that this question even comes up," Papoutsis said to Shacknews when they asked about the console-to-PC port.

"It’s by no means any less important to us; it gets a lot of attention. The PC is a very different platform. As developers, you want to deliver an experience that’s as similar as possible on different platforms," he said.

"In Dead Space 2, I felt we made some great strides in terms of controls, responsiveness and even the visual improvements we got into it. We continue to evolve our games as we develop them, but we certainly don’t target PC as something that’s going to be significantly different. We aren’t trying to create disparity in the experience that our gamers enjoy; we want to make sure everyone’s having that same experience."

There is one thing that immediately distinguishes the PC version from the console ones though; the master race will be privileged  to be able to make use of a mouse and keyboard, because Visceral is allowing that.

"The fact that we’re allowing you to control the game with a mouse and keyboard immediately makes the game feel different," affirms Papoutsis.

Game’s out next week on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox360.
