Transistor, the latest and greatest game from Bastion developer Supergiant Games, has a release date. It’s coming to PS4 and PC, and it looks like it will be especially cool on the new console.
Bastion fans can be glad, Rucks actor Logan Cunningham will be returning as voice talent. This time, he’ll play the role of the talking sword. It will be so wonderful to hear that voice again – I can’t wait.
Transistor will be launching on 20 May in America for $20, and 21 May across the Atlantic £15 or €19. So, what is the game about?
Transistor is a sci-fi themed action RPG that invites you to wield an extraordinary weapon of unknown origin as you fight through a stunning futuristic city. Gameplay seamlessly integrates thoughtful strategic planning with fast-paced action and rich atmospheric storytelling. During the course of the adventure, you’ll piece together the Transistor’s mysteries as you pursue its former owners.
What I find particularly cool is that the developers managed to sync the light bar of the DualShock 4 with the Transistor sword. So, when the sword speaks, the turquoise hue of the weapon and its pulses are matched by the DualShock light bar. This adds to the immersion of the players – that isn’t a controller in your hand, it’s the actual sword.
I’m glad to know the game is coming to PS4 and PC soon. Bastion set a new standard in indie games – it’s one of those rare gems that appealed to those who “don’t like indies”. I’m excited to get my hands on the latest creation from Supergiant Games – just check out the trailer for the game:

I felt quite silly when I last played Bastion. I’d played it about year or so ago but got distracted by something else before finishing it. Finally resumed my game a few months ago & didn’t even play for 10 minutes before finishing the game.
