Titanfall Beta extended

Celebrate

We have been thoroughly enjoying the Titanfall Beta. Well, all of us except Gavin who has been suffering with lack of real internet thanks to his line being dirty – I don’t want to know what he uses the internet for that has made his physical line that dirty. We were getting sad that the end was nigh, but now the end is less nigh as the beta has been extended.

Instead of ending today, we get an extra two days with Titanfall:

If you still haven’t jumped on the Beta, it really is worth doing. I finally got my hands on the game yesterday on one of the few Xbox Ones in the country, and it is stupidly fun. I was horrifically bad at the game, and I still had a good time. There’s even a gun that seems custom designed for people with no aim, like me. Plus, for those who were wondering, I didn’t get any motion sickness from it.

You can check out Stephen’s more detailed impressions of the Beta, or Geoff’s explanation about local lag. Or, you can just celebrate by jumping into the Beta yourself for the next few days and enjoy that fast, frenetic and insanely fun gameplay. I’m not sure if COD or Battlefield fans will convert, but Titanfall will certainly attract a whole new breed of FPS gamers.

Why would the Xbox One need saving with sales figures blowing the Xbox 360 sales out of the water? LOL! Just because it’s 2nd to Sony does not mean it needs “saving” does it?

Obviously he is a Sony troll blind enough to see how much FPS games have helped to sell FPS games on Xbox 360. Elsewhere, on PS3, MAG SMAG and SOCOM SUCUM were cancelled from online play, LOL >.>

          MAG SMAG and SOCOM SUCUM?
Why haven’t I heard of these before?
          They sound awesome.

Sorry you are right. Let me rephrase: That one game is not going boost sales on the Xbox to the point that it will be showing higher sales that the PS4. There are so many people saying that this game is going to be the one that:
        a) is a CoD Killer (How many times has that been said now?)
        b) Is going to turn around all current sentiments towards the Xbox One.
        One game……I dont think so.
Not saying the Xbox One is crap AT ALL. a mate of mine in NZ is using one right now and he says its magic.

Apparently Gavin’s line isn’t just filthy dirty, it’s also broken, as in the cable broke… and who can blame it when it’s being abused in such ways!!!

Origin has devil magic and i was peaking at 4MB/s (that’s megaBYTES). The “14gb” downloaded in an hour. I have a 10mb line that has been syncing at 7.5mb lately.

That devil magic is really something, I couldn’t believe how fast the beta downloaded for me. Made me question all of the origin hate that permeates comment sections.

A new breed of FPS gamers? Let the speculation begin!

I’ll go first: I think Titanfall gamers are going to mock COD & BF gamers by creating videos showing them twerking in their mechs & by calling them squishies.

It’s in the “My Games” window in Origin? I think you had to sign up for the beta for it to appear?

Yeah, it’ll be in Origin if you had previously signed up for the PC beta.

Titanfall for the PC requires a 64 bit OS and I have 32 bit… Maybe I should start backing up my C drive?

Had the same problem. got the invite tried to download, was met with this download requires a 64bit OS. So spent the whole day yesterday backing stuff up and installing windows 64bit only to hear the beta ends in two days time.

So now im not going to waste time downloading to only play for a day and a bit.

But at least im ready for the full game now with my sqweeky clean 64bit OS desktop 🙂

The Beta is so awesome. This will be my new MP game, with a little bit of BF4 here and there.

I do really enjoy the beta, and continue to enjoy it with my mates. The game is brilliant and the game play feels just right. The graphics are decent, a bit annoyed that the environment is bulletproof but alas. The titans feel great and the parkour makes stalking and killing enemies a whole lot of fun. So much so that I went to sleep far too late and I’m currently representing the zombie nation at work.

And now the other side of the coin. The latency, it will be different for everyone but it was noticeable in a lot of my encounters. This being on an unshaped account and fastest line(in my area). Is it game breaking at this moment in time? Well that depends on what you are willing to put up with. But as for me, I just can’t justify paying the game’s full price when there is no local data centre and there are other great titles arriving in the same month. If Titanfall shipped with a great single player campaign, then I’d not be on this side of the fence.

End of the day, from what I’ve seen, Titanfall is an amazing game. As always it’s up to you how you spend your hard earned money, just make an informed decision.
