THQ still needs to sell off Darksiders, Homeworld and Red Faction

Much like explosive diarrhoea, there happens to be bits of THQ everywhere now. The company is dead, and it’s various games and license have been scattered to the winds of other gaming studios and publishers. Well, most of them anyway. THQ still has a few properties left that no one wanted the first time that they had an auction, so they’re going to be trying once again to kick them out the door one more time.

There’s still some meat left in the carcass of THQ, and that includes Darksiders, Homeworld and Red Faction. Those properties will be going under the hammer separately, while THQ will also offer a super-sized deal for a bundle that includes Big Beach Sports, Summoner and Destroy all humans. A Marvel Super Hero pack is also on the cards, alongside licensed packs of Supreme Commander, Worms and “more”.

THQ says that they’ve got “100 expressions of interest”, regarding these various unloved titles, according to Kotaku. Man, I hope someone snatches up Red Faction, even though Geoff believes that it’s a “Red Fraction” of its former glory. Oh, and Homeworld. Let that indie studio have it THQ. So I can jam it on my iPad when I play Darksiders with my toilet seat.

Lets club together here on LG and buy Darksiders… Wait 3 years and put Darksiders 3 on the market with souped up still images that looks amazing but in actual fact are fake…. Sell the “game” and IP for mega moolah and all of us retire and live happily ever after…. Win – win

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the minimum price of the IP’s even are?

The only issue now, though, is that if the Darksiders IP is bought, the core people that made it so great in the 1st place will no longer work on the IP. Dey belongs to dem Crytek nao.

Oh are you in for a treat. I’m quite far into the second one. Damn long game. Not that I’m complaining. Loving it to bits. Haven’t played for some time though. Should actually start it up again and try and finish it. That and I have to finish DX:HR for a third time.

You know I’ve heard very little bad about the IP. I am loving the first game for many reasons, one being the RPG element. I have heard from our very good friend from this site Darryn, the second goes even more into that.*Blushes he’s so excited! Now, to finish the first, get through a whole Saturday of playing Dead Space 3 with OVG, then get to the second Darksiders, before the world dies in a volcano of custard!

Yea, the second one took what made the 1st one great and made it better. It’s like… it’s like a glass of Jack Daniels on the rocks in a glass of Jim Beam. It’s the way sequels are supposed to be made.

The first two were awesome.. Guerrilla was enjoyable and Armaggedon was linear, but not that bad. It had some interesting ideas. Whoever buys it should go back to basics if they ever bring it back.

This good news I hear. The rest of the franchises is being sold as of now “court-approved sales process” and Darksiders is one of them. I’d love the Darksiders franchise to continue and I’d be pleased if someone buys it.
