This is what a next-gen Pokémon game could look like

Oh lookie, a new Pokemanz garme! On a handheld device! What, is that not enough for you? Well hold on to your spleens, because Pokémon X and Y is in… 3D! Whoa, didn’t mean to make your organs collapse with such radical innovation. Still, jokes aside, a Pokémon game will most likely appear on the Nintendo Wii U console one day. And this is what it could look like.

Massively talented environmental artist Evan Liaw did just that sort of imagineering, as he drew a more modern day Pokémon center using the Unreal Development engine. And it looks so damn fine. When it comes to Pokémon games on consoles, the results are usually nowhere near as addictive as the handheld games.

But these pictures, they make me long to sit down and capture some pocket monsters so that I can force them to fight to the death faint in glorious family-friendly battle. What do you think? Would you play Pokémon on a console that was attached to a TV if it looked like this?
