Remember Goro, the big scary 9 foot tall bad guy with four arms and a bad haircut?
Of course you do, he was the final boss in the original Mortal Kombat a formidable foe to say the least. Now as you remember, the original Mortal Kombat used digitised versions of real actors for all of the in game characters.
The problem with having a boss like Goro, was the obvious fact that real life oversized scary four armed bad guys just aren’t easy to find in those days, so they had to make another plan.
We have a picture of the real Goro after the jump. Just wait until you see the real hulking, scary Goro that was made for the shots. You really, really wouldn’t want to run into him in a dark alley…
… mostly because you might get him stuck onto the bottom of your shoe, and that’s just downright annoying.
The real story behind Goro is that the developers made a plan by building a small model that could be used for stop motion.
A table, some planks, a few blue pieces of board, some books, a cookie tin, a lamp and a heck of a lot of duct tape were the tools used to create the scary villain. Cutting edge technology I tell you.
Rumour has it that Motaro and Shao Kahn were actually made of Lego, cellotape and Monopoly pieces.

Actually, he was the second-to-last boss. 😉
That old shape-shifting coot Shang-Tsung was the final boss.
