The next Far Cry game could have you hunting dinosaurs

C'maaawn Ubisoft!

I’m just about done with Far Cry 4 and my incessant search for those devil masks, with the game being one of my highlights of 2014. And one of the few Ubisoft games that wasn’t terrible or broken at launch. The entire experience was solid, and the engine powering the game was capable of some magnificent action/drug trips. Naturally, Ubisoft wants to spin the game off in a new direction ala Far Cry Blood Dragon. So what do you want to see in a future Far Cry game?

Because Ubisoft is asking questions. Questions stemming from a Questionaire sent out to Far Cry 4 players according to Eurogamer, which mentions real-world locales such as Peru and Alaska and even historical eras such as the Vietnam war and America during the wild and untamed days of the 19th century.

Of course, those ideas are pedestrian. Because the questionaire also lists ideas to set the game in "a Mad Max-style post-apocalyptic world" or "a Far Cry game set in the modern day on a Jurassic Park-style island with dinosaurs." There’s also mention of "a Far Cry game where you can fight against or join vampires," and even a zombie apocalypse scenario.

Right now, the obvious solution is to shout “More Blood Dragon!” but I honestly don’t want that. Make no mistake, I loved Blood Dragon, but that’s a Far Cry game that doesn’t need a sequel. It’s perfect the way it is, a done-in-one tale of neon lasers and future science run amok. Personally, I’d love to see the dinosaur idea. And skin every single Compsognathus or Iguanasaurus I come across.

Thank you biweekly Dinosaur magazine for that knowledge. Your glow in the dark T-Rex skeleton was as awesome as it was delicious.

I had all the cards as well. Like as in ALL of them. Foils, the works. Entire collection.

You know what the sad part is? I can’t remember what the heck I did with it 🙁

Me too – got the entire collection. Absolutely alles. Donated my set, when I was in varsity, to my former Primary School… Apparently it’s still being used to this day. 🙂

I’m just chuffed the set is still around and being used. Deserves to be seen… Was, and still am, fascinated by Dinosaurs. And that was an awesome series / collection.

Since I hated school and all teachers, when I left for varsity, I also gave a donation. The type that I cannot discuss here, as there might be legal implications ;P

Actually, Far Cry in the wild west, or Far Cry in a Jurassic Park-like setting could work. I’d be keen to try them out.

Really enjoyed my time with Far Cry 4… Will definitely play it again sometime – it’s that fun!

Mags nowadays are nuts. Collectibles, I can only imagine, are worse. I mean some of these ‘CNA weekly collectible specials’ they have start, “Issue 1 special introductory price”, at R30… Then the follow-up is R99!! Just crazy!

Well seeing as we can’t get a new NOLF, I’d like a Blood Dragon style game set in that flower power era.

    Far Cry 4: Fight Peace.

struggling with the game, its playable and runs smooth now after the patches.
the game was interesting at the begining, but halfway through, theres nothing left to drive you, nothing particularly compelling.
“hey ajay, go here, shoot some people, dont be seen, come back here, thanks.” rince and repeat.
    gets a bit boring…
