Pillow Fighter 4, 2016

Ken you match my beats I don’t so cause I’mma stretch my skills fo’ Shoryuken! I’m a lean mean Bison with a psycho machine, I cheat like Seth hopped up on meth and I don’t Zangief a f***! So prepare to rock ‘n Rolento as I lay down some pain like Poison in her stilettos!

It’s hard to believe, but Street Fighter 4 is now six years old. This is the game that revitalised a genre, and made digital pugilism a commercial possibility again. Say what you like about Street Fighter 4 releasing several ultra mega radical awesome updates on a regular basis, but for fighting game fans, these new versions matter.

Anyway, here’s the opening and bombastic trailer for the latest version, Ultra Street Fighter 4:

Ultra Street Fighter 4 doesn’t stray far from the original game, but what it does do is add several new characters, tweaks and balances to the game along with some more new content. Most of it is visual, but for genre purists, the addition of new characters opens up a whole new level of play and strategy.

Here’s another trailer showing off the new specials of the game, as well as all the alternate outfits for the five new fighters. Thanks AGB:

combos are easier with the defined keypad of a keyboard, but some games are just better with a console controller.

I agree but imagine having to use both like a FPS It’s stupid I know but it would be fun to watch.

Hey man, I picked this one up from Makro about a year and a half ago. I checked but they don’t seem to stock ’em anymore.

The best place to get them is to go on Bid or buy and search for “fight stick”. The prices a really good too.

            2K ? ouch.
I recently acquired a whole ancient arcade (jabba) for that price. Running all the SF2’s and a few hundred other 2p games. I will have to really think about it!

I know! I got it for R399 due to a pricing error on their site :). The stock lasted about one weekend…thinking back I should have bought two.

Yeah I’m Sorry.. Playing a Fighting game on a PC with a controller like playing a RTS on Console with a Mouse just isnt natural..

I have my Xbox 360 arcade sticks and they all work perfectly on PC so it reallt isnt any different than any other platform. Serious players are gonna use sticks either way

Zangief was the worst. It requires two 360 spins with your thumb if I recall.

way prefer the xbox360 remote to the ps3 one, borrowed my friends 360 wired controller for pc and was amazed by the difference. went out and bought my own one the next day.
No cramps, no sore thumbs from the Dpad, no worrying about dropping your combo because your hands have slipped into an awkward position cus youre gripping too tight.

I lot of people do. I could never figure out why because it’s as big as a ashtray and the analog sticks are in different positions which bothered me a lot. Yes the PS3 controller was like a toy but the PS4 controller is ten times better.

What really excites me is Tekken X Streetfighter. That’s something to look forward to. Sadly there still is no news on this game yet. I’ll rather wait on this than bother with these Streetfighter games.

Yeah, that’s actually what I’m excited for too. I recently got into Tekken with tag 2 and can’t wait to see how namco handles the street fighter characters. I think it will be better than what capcom did.

Plus, I feel like 3rd strike was the epitome of the series. Too bad we’ll never get an other installment that requires that level of a high level of technical skill due to capcom trying to make things easy.

Tekken Tag 2 is fantastic. Love that game. I can’t wait to see what Namco does as well with the Streetfighter characters. Capcoms version was ok but Namcos one is hopefully gona be better. It will be grown up Streetfighter. I agree that 3rd Strike was the best overall and that 2d graphics to this day is still fantastic. I enjoyed Streetfighter Alpha 3 as well those days.
