The Humble Bundle may save THQ

THQHumbleBundle

Geoff posted up last week about the surprise THQ humble bundle which appeared to get a lot of people hot under the collar as it was no longer an indie bundle and not all the money was going to charity..

Well I grabbed the bundle last week to fill up some of the gaps in my gaming library and donated all the money to THQ, not because I dislike charity but neither of those charities support anyone in my country so it didn’t feel right…

Anyway that’s beside the point, what the bundle has done however is to really help THQ out. While they  are obviously losing cash on each title sold the marketing hit has been massive and the THQ stock has skyrocketed by almost 38% since the bundle started and the bundle itself has now sold over $2.4 million.

It’s not a long term solution but it was a fantastic idea by THQ and Humble Bundle and it is helping them on the road to recovery.
