The Holodome is probably your next piece of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel DLC

We’re a game in, a new character most likely capped by now and a ton of golden keys used in the pursuit of happiness and head explosions. What’s next for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel? Why, a return to the arenas of death and carnage it would seem.

Some new achievements for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel have leaked from Xbox Achievements, which suggest that the game will be dipping into its own Circle of Slaughter quests, via The Holodome. See for yourself below:

Holodome

If this one pans out to be true, this will account for 75% of the revealed DLC so far: Jack’s Doppleganger DLC character, the Holodome itself and Aurelia the Baroness. This isn’t the first time that Borderlands has released a more arena-centric expansion that operates on Thunderdome rules wherein many, many bandits enter and only one vault hunter leaves. Way back when the original Borderlands was released, the second DLC expansion introduced fan favourite character Mad Moxxi and the Underdome, which was balls-to-the-wall difficult if you weren’t playing with friends.

Now that a couple of years have passed since then, I’m digging the idea of a brand new dome within which to murder moon-bandits. Everybody playing is undoubtedly far more connected now than they were in 2009. Bring on the social fun I say. Because truly, nothing beats a night of Borderlands arena missions coupled with alcohol.

        @Sgt. M:disqus don’t read this comment.

You’re supposed to subtly undermine them as you make a display of false support so that when they realise the error of their ways you can comfort them with an excellent game on PC (what game you use for the comfort depends on what is released at the time they realise their error).

I was all in on the PS4 bandwagon, but lately im wondering if the xbone wouldnt be the better choice.
first and foremost, im a master race person, why pay R800 for a game i would enjoy more on PC?
its the exclusives that Im looking at, and xbone has better exclusives.

I’m probably going to get some flak for this, but doesn’t it seem like Borderlands is just rehashing old content, over and over again?

Maybe you should play it before you make uneducated and naive comments like that. 😉

That’s the point – why should I pay R500 for more of the same? I’m not a CoD player, I expect more.

to be fair, anything from the borderlands franchise is worth its price tag.
although im still debating whether getting the seasons pass so early was a good idea on my part.

i know gearbox aus are working on making things right though, but new content shouldnt be the focus just yet.

To be honest, I still enjoy and play BL2. I have all the DLC for that – and I’ve certainly played it enough. But if I want more of it – it’s the kind of game you CAN just play through again. So why. What’s new? Oxygen and buttstomping. Great. What about the rest?

i dont think the oxygen and buttstomping changes things all that much, it feels like an extension of borderlands 2, which is exactly what it sounds like you want from it, if you enjoyed borderlands 2, then i can pretty much guarantee you’ll like the presequal, just dont expect it to be BETTER than b2, its an extension of it, not an improvement.

its the butt stomping and oxygen GEAR which really change things up, its like having a extra class mod on, it encourages a much different play style which doesnt feel foreign at all, it feels natural, its smart.

that, and lazer guns are awesome, new characters, new back story and better late game scaling.
once they fix the boss farming problems and get some legit DLC in, the game will be 100%

i wouldnt say “over and over again”
theres alot thats different and fresh with this game.

but they do need to look at making that 30$ season pass worth it, and an arena isnt going to do that.
theyl have released 2 new characters, with the only other DLC being only half a story, the dialogue in arena modes is purely to enhance the arena, not the story.

releasing characters with legit story DLC encourages full new playthroughs with new characters.
arena doesnt, it encourages extended singular playthroughs.

extending singular playthroughs should be the long game for the 30$ seasons pass, not the short, it needs to be relevant 6 months in, not one month after release.

    theyr doing this backwards.

    arena shit should come last.
fix bosses so we can farm and give us proper story based DLC.
