The best and worst of the last week (07 September 2012)

It’s been another strange week here in the office. Gavin finally discovered Gangnam Style and has forced Geoff to assume the position numerous times already as he shuffles his feet and shouts “OPPA!”, while I’ve gotten away with murder by killing several people who called me Brenda had a cup of tea. Here’s a look at what made the highs and lows this week in the news.

In a rare occurrence that is further proof that Half Life 3 is on the way, our second local lass of the week won the favour of our readers, Jade Fairbrother. We think it might have something to do with the fact that she also happens to be the Playboy Playmate of the year.

Worst Story

We staying local this week, and the dubious dishonour goes to the Frantic Pedantic Banditos over at the FPB, for allowing gaming to be hobbled and squandered, due to outdated practices, codes and barely there communication.

Best Story

Our best story of the week goes to Ubisoft finally answering the call of reason, as they’ve decided to ditch always-on DRM in their PC games. An ineffective process that penalises PC gamers while doing sweet buggerall to stem the tide of piracy, it’s wonderful to finally see the so-called master race of gamers get excited for titles such as Assassin’s Creed 3 and Far Cry 3 on their chosen platform.

You like her, you really do like her! We welcomed Yolanda Green to our gang of miscreants this week, and you guys have been overwhelmingly positive in accepting her, and for that, you have our heartfelt thanks. Except for those sad, little people who think that down-voting positive comments about her will somehow result in Yolanda mysteriously vanishing. She’s here to stay for quite a while folks!

Least Popular

I’ve finally stopped my losing streak this week, as none other than Gavin himself received the fewest comments possible, as his behind the scenes look at F1 Race Stars managed to gather one mere comment, and about zero servings of a certain naughty word.

Comment of the week

And our infamous no-prize for comment of the week goes to Anon A Mouse, for reminding us of the lunacy that is present in every single movie released in Ghana, when talking about the fan-made Final Fantasy 7 movie:

Meh, we Ghanians, we be having it.

I chuckled like a ticklish school girl.

That’s all for this week folks! Be back here same bat-time, same bat-place, next week for another round-up!
