There’s a new Spider-Man film out next year and if you thought for a second that there wouldn’t be a game to take advantage of that film release, then you’ve obviously been huffing web fluid again.
Beenox will once again be handling development on this sequel, where players get to roam the streets and skyscrapers of the big apple – New York City. According to the announcement, the cityscape itself has been enhanced, while a new “Hero or Menace” system has been added to the game itself.
What that system does, is reward players for keeping crime under control, while also adding consequences for allowing it to spread unchecked. I dug parts of the Spider-Man game from Beenox last year.
It looked great, had some fantastic design elements and web-slinging around Manhattan felt fantastic. Unfortunately, the simplistic combat and uninspired levels that the game took place in dragged it down several notches. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing either.
The sequel game is out May 2014, and it’ll be hitting Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, PC, Wii U and 3DS. The original game itself is out soon on PS Vita.

Movie games are always so terrible. I really hope this one doesn’t follow the same suit

It wasn’t bad. Finished Hitman Absolution, started Max Payne 3 & Trine 2. MP3 can be very frustrating. How was yours?

Losing my mind. I still have a humble bundle that needs to be downloaded and installed. I’ve complained, I’ve done just about everything I could on the right side of the law.

Till Rock joined on sat and took over my winning streak lol. He is a good player. What is Trine 2? forgive my ignorance.

No, I really enjoyed it. Hitman is an excellent game.
Trine is a physics-based side scroller where you can switch on the fly between a mage, thief & warrior to solve the puzzles. It’s fun, and has seriously pretty graphics.

Hmmm sounds fun! I didn’t enjoy the end of hitman, those 3 dudes at end were flipping easy! There were alot of cool missions but for me personally I wouldn’t play game a second time. Games like Farcry 3 on the other hand would gladly play again.

That’s true. Those were great. It’s superhero games, based on the movies, that usually go bad.

That is one of the least interesting trailers I’ve ever seen.
Although the part where Spidey is hanging from a web in mid-air, seemingly without a building nearby, is a little bit intriguing.

I am sure this game wont break any records or be that much anticipated, but I really want to see the new movie though! I like the take on spiderman.

I came to this article expecting news about the movie.
No idea why I expected to read about a movie on a gaming news site.
I might have subconsciously blocked the memories of the existence of movie games as most of them are terrible.

The only Spidey game I really liked was Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions.
Wasn’t fantastic but it was worth a play through
