South Africa’s National Battlefield 3 team showed their dominance this weekend, beating Spain in the Clan Base Nations Cup. They’ve had a small taste of victory after winning a map against Russia the week before, tying on map wins but losing because of tickets.
This time there was no question that our local team has what it takes; it’s only been their second game in the cup and they’ve taken the win, dominating both maps. The games were played on Operation Firestorm and Operation Metro. The scores were:
- Operation Firestorm: 185 – 0
- Operation Metro: 183 – 0
“The team is staying positive and aiming for another win against Bulgaria in their next match.
“The games have been great, we have had a bit of a mixed reaction from the teams but I honestly think that it is just the language barrier which is a problem as most of the more English speaking teams seem to come across more friendly, we are feeling rather confident going into our next game against Bulgaria and are hoping we can get a win out of that one.
Last nights games was really fun, but that is always going to happen when you are winning. Obviously there is always nerves when you are playing at this level with the kind of skill that is up on offer.” Says team captain Barry Louzada.
The team is proving that their skill level is not inferior to European teams, even though they’ve never really had regular opportunities to practice against these teams.
The game against Bulgaria will take place on 3 March.
I like bacon and games, and occasionally I say something coherent about it. I'm not old or cynical, and I'm not the Dork Knight. I AM SHE-RA! Wait, what?
