It’s a long way from being an official confirmation but I’ll honestly take anything I can get when it comes to Super Mario.
Earlier this year Nintendo announced that it was working on a new 2D Mario game and other than a release date of before April 2013 we don’t know anything else about it.
Until now, hopefully.
Nintendo has just secured the rights to the domain www.supermario4.com which currently doesn’t do anything special but it’s something and that’s enough for me. Yes I’m a horrible Super Mario fan and while I’ve clocked New Super Mario Bros Wii about 5 times already I still can’t think of many better things than another Mario game.
The kicker though is that Super Mario Bros 4 already exists. The Japanese release of Super Nintendo launch title Super Mario World was subtitled “Super Mario Bros 4” and two Mario games with the same name seems unlikely.
