Square Enix shows off next-gen footage

Leviosaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Square Enix has revealed new footage of their next-gen Luminous Engine, demonstrating with some awesome Final Fantasy characters. Look at it! Just look at it, they’re floating around in a room like it is magic. Oh Wait! It’s not magic, its real time character editing in the next-gen Luminous Engine. If it’s your first time reading about this, you might want to check out this awe striking demo Square Enix showed off at E3 earlier this year.

Now that you’ve seen that, have a look at the new footage. Everything about the characters can be changed on the fly by moving any set of slider bars, just like character creation in games like Aion and Tera (much like most RPG’s or MMO’s but with way more detail).

Most impressive is the animation of the hair and skin, the lighting and even being able to adjust the sweat on the old man’s forehead. The future of gaming is looking pretty good, I for one can’t wait.

I like bacon and games, and occasionally I say something coherent about it. I'm not old or cynical, and I'm not the Dork Knight. I AM SHE-RA! Wait, what?
