Another storm has brewed in a teacup over the weekend after an erotic strategy game called Seduce Me was booted from the new Steam indie channel, Greenlight.
This obviously brings up the age old complaint about how the American run gaming distributors are perfectly happy with kids mutilating characters, swearing and using a huge array of real world weapons to wreck havoc via an online world but the thought of sex in a game is still taboo.
It’s ridiculous but unfortunately thanks to the bible belt this isn’t going to change anytime soon so there really isn’t much more to say about it.
What I was wondering this morning though is whether or not it we should have sex games on such popular platforms such as Steam or Origin?
I wouldn’t be overly happy with my 15 year old kid getting their hands on some of these games and when it comes to digital distribution it becomes much harder for parents to monitor.
Maybe a solution would be that any R rated game would require a credit card before downloading even if you have credit in your account. Just to ensure that the person is either of age or is willing to take the chance that there parents might see, thus giving the power back where it belongs which is with the parents.
I’m not sure how I feel about it to be honest… but one things for sure if you want to fantasize about naked people fornicating you are going to have more luck using google or a book store rather than any online gaming company.
