Sales are almost over and need your money

The Steam and Good Old Games sales have been ridiculous, as usual. There have been fantastic games at insanely low prices for weeks now, and on the final day we get the biggest hurrah.

Over on Steam, the last day features a ton of fantastic deals such as:

  • Metro Complete Edition: $6.79 (66% off)
  • Tomb Raider: $4.99 (75% off)
  • Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition: $4.99 (75% off)
  • Borderlands 2: $4.99 (75% off)
  • The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition: $3.99 (80% off)
  • Saints Row IV: $9.99 (75% off)
  • Skyrim: $4.99 (75% off)
  • GTA IV Liberty City: $5.99 (80% off)
  • The Wolf Among Us: $8.49 (66% off)
  • XCOM: Enemy Unknown: $8.49 (83% off)
  • Civilization V: $7.49 (75% off)
  • State of Decay: $4.99 (75% off)
  • Dishonored: $4.99 (75% off)
  • Payday 2: $5.99 (80% off)
  • Fallout New Vegas: $6.79 (66% off)
  • Brothers A tale of two sons: $2.99 (80% off)
  • Farcry 3: $7.49 (75% off)
  • Lego Movie Videogame: $7.49 (75% off)
  • Garry’s Mod: $2.49 (75% off)

But they’re not the only one. Good Old Games has brought back all the bundles and deals leading to over 700 games currently on sale and 30 bundles. Obviously it’s far too much to list here, but some highlights include:

  • Leisure Suit Larry Compilation: $4.37 (80% off)
  • Rebellion Catalog: $16.95 (85% off)
  • Hitman Classics: $5.17 (80% off)
  • Tex Murphy Classics: $7.16 (80% off)
  • Thief Classics: $5.97 (80% off)
  • Telltale’s Sam and Max: $9.47 (90% off)

I honestly don’t think I have time to play all the games I own at this point. It’s sort of ridiculous how games have moved from something to be played, to something to be collected. Wait, does this mean that Steam is Pokemon now? However, a lot of the games are PC only – I had to restructure my wish list when I realized that some of my most desired games were actually unplayable on this machine. So, for all the Mac users out there, there’s also this sale on Mac games. It’s not nearly as impressive, but at least it’s dedicated to us.

The D&D master set collection on GOG is so much win. For around $21 you get:

    Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2
    Icewind Dale 1 & 2
    Neverwinter Nights 1 & 2
    Planescape Torment
    Temple of Elemental Evil
    Dragonshard
    Demon Stone

    HEAVEN!

Like that except I can’t afford a gold cross.
          Also, less effective.

    Aren’t sales hipster enough?

Edit: I missed the slur when I picked it up the picture from the net and it makes me uncomfortable.

NO THEY ARE NOT!!! YOU TAKE THAT BACK!

Actually, although strictly speaking they are a “personal computer” the lack of options and upgrade-ability makes it’s addition to the PC group as a technicality. They’re closer to portable consoles you can do more than play games on than they are to PC’s.

hahaha. That’s true too. If they had all those options where would their owners get the time to drink their ridiculous coffee-like concoctions while complaining about them.

I tried. But I found the ninjas did not sit still long enough in the cooking pots so I can properly Jam them.
Ninjas are so uncooperative, you know?

It’s exactly whta you want from a mid 90s reboot. It’s what Duke Nukem Forever should have been. Shadow Warrior 11/10 over the top action, great melee combat, and opens with this scene: http://youtu.be/XcenKOAtdRc

      It’s perfect.

I love what Steam does for the gaming community, but looking over the list again there are mostly games that I own or owned on console, or games that I don’t want. It’s a bit behind the times to be honest.
