Even if you’re not a fan of anything related to Ryse: Son of Rome so far, it’s hard to deny that the game at least looks cool. It plays like a Zack Snyder version of Gladiator, and the visuals are pretty crisp and smooth. Visuals which will be playing at a constant pace of 1080 High Definitions under the hood.

Microsoft’s Aaron Greenberg confirmed the 1080pness of Ryse on Twitter:

While the following videos were posted showed off the excruciatingly painful finishers that players will be using to limb-severing effect:

Ryse: Son of Rome is an Xbox One Launch title for the November debut of that console. Ryse will be playable at rAge this year, so you folks can see what I’ve been raving about lately. Although to get to it, you’ll most likely have to make a human turtle and push through.

But will the game be running of an XBONE or a PC at rAge? That… is indeed the question. It’s all good and well to say that it runs natively on 1080p on a “xbox one” dev PC”, and then sub-720 on a real xbone…

Dev PC’s are generally under-specced in-order to keep costs down.

Playable X1’s are going to be making an appearance at TGS so who cares about some tiny expo?

Actually 1600×900 native , upscaled to 1080p , possibly confirming the Xbone can do with a bit more under the hood.
