As we inch closer and closer to the release of Mortal Kombat X, Ed Boon and the rest of NetherRealm Studios are doing a good job of keeping the hype train moving with frequent updates to the fighter roster. There are already a handful of returning classics and new fighters alike, and there’s probably going to be much more before launch in April. But what about fighters outside of the Mortal Kombat universe? What about someone like Predator?
If you have a keen memory, you’ll recall that all the way back in July last year Ed Boon tweeted a joke image with Skorpion and Predator sharing the same space on screen, accompanied by the Mortal Kombat X logo. It could, however, have been an extremely early tease, as Videogamer has revealed that a source close to them claims that Predator will be part of a DLC package for the game set for launch in June.

According to the source, not only will the infamous sci-fi hunter join the roster, but Colonel Al Dillon as well. Dillon was a CIA agent killed in the very first Predator film, and remains a fan favourite character through all the butchering the franchise went through there after. Carl Weathers, the actor who portrayed Dillon, has also apparently agreed to share his likeness for the character design.
Now this is all very much still a gigantic rumour, but it wouldn’t be a stretch at all to think that this is what NeatherRealm has planned. Mortal Kombat 9 featured two out of universe characters, with Kratos from God of War and Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street both being released after launch. Predator would be a fitting addition, and one I’d probably go absolutely mental over. I can already see fatalities with Predator’s infamous wrist-mounted blades, or his signature smart disc coming around and slicing your enemies bit by bit.
Hell, Predator could even go full Smoke and supercharge his self-destruct device to take out the entire planet. There’s a lot NetherRealm could do with a character like Predator, so I’m truly hoping this turns out to be more fact than fiction.

Anyone want to buy my X Box one ? I have had it for three months. Still under warranty and I will throw in two games, Dead Rising and The Halo Collection all for R 4400. I also have a unplayed copy of Dragon Age fot the PS4 I was going to use as a trade in for The Order 1886 but considering the issues surrounding the length and Qte gameplay, I am a little hesitant to trade it so I am also looking to flog it for around R 400.
