Ubisoft is preparing to wrap up the story on the current cycle of Assassin’s Creed later this year, but the one question that fans have been wanting answered, is to know which period in history the next game will take place in. Also, will Desmond ever get out of the Animus chair? He is starting to get kinda pudgy sitting in there the whole time as it is.
We heard rumours earlier this year that the next historical setting could be the American war of Independence, which would make perfect sense for the various themes and ideologies that are woven into the series, and now, we might have even stumbled onto what our historical predecessor looks like for the next game.
Kotaku was recently emailed a promotional image of what appears to be the star of Assassins Creed 3, from a worker in Best Buy, who claims that Ubisoft will officially unveil the game on March 5.
The artwork shown has several key elements linking it to the War of Independence, such as an American Continental flag and a jacket that seems to be based on military designs from those time periods.
The character also appears to be a Native American, or at least a member of that culture, judging by his jewellery and tomahawk weapon, as well as the distinct bow that is strapped to his back.
So what say you, real or fake? I’m personally hoping that it’s real, because this looks like an outstanding character design so far.
