Pool. Billiards. That game where you work the shaft of a stick on some balls. On a console where the likes of Killzone: Shadow Fall and Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is pushing the hardware to the purdy brink, Pure Pool might just be the next-gen game that can blow them all out of the water. Or it probably won’t
Here’s your first sexually-charged trailer for the game that is currently in development at VooFoo, who are pulling the ol’ pool shark hustle.
I don’t exactly know what to think about this trailer, as it turns the venerable game into a Fast and the Furious spin-off with uncanny valley syndrome. According to VooFoo’s Shaun Read on the PS Blog however, expect something that takes full advantage of the PS4 hardware:
Forget everything you know about pool games, because we’re taking Pure Pool to a whole other dimension! This game will bring a living, breathing, connected Pool Hall to your living room. By now, you know we enjoy pushing hardware to the limit to create photo-realistic games.
Well, using the immense power of PS4, we’re working on graphical techniques that will blur your perception of what’s real and what’s a game. Sound over the top? Wait until you see this thing in action!
As a pool fan, I’ll hold you to that VooFoo. There’s no release date yet for when Pure Pool will be sinking an eight ball in the corner pocket, but it won’t be entering a crowded market in that particular genre.
