PSA –Nintendo Wii U price confirmed!

This morning, we got confirmation on the price of a bundled Nintendo Wii U unit, which will set you back R4800 smackers for a deluxe console, ZombiU game and pro controller.

For those of you wanting something different, here’s the official price list from Core, the Nintendo distributor: The basic console pack will cost you R3999, while the premium model with more storage capacity and a copy of Nintendo Land will be R4599.Either way you slice it, looks like Kalahari might have the best offer on the table so far with their ZombiU bundle.

29th October 2012 – Core Gaming Systems, the official distributor of Nintendo hardware and software in South Africa, has announced the recommended retail price for Nintendo’s next generation console – the Wii U – ahead of its 30th November 2012 launch in the country.

In a recent Nintendo Direct announcement, two launch hardware packs were confirmed for Wii U – the Wii U Basic Pack and the Wii U Premium Pack – alongside the strongest line-up of launch software in Nintendo history.

We can now confirm that the Wii U Basic Pack which features a Wii U console with 8GB internal storage and a Wii U GamePad, both in White, has a recommended retail price of RRP R3,999*.

The Wii U Premium Pack** with Black Wii U console and Wii U GamePad, 32GB of internal storage and bundled with Nintendo Land, has a recommended retail price of RRP R4,599*. Survival horror fans can also look forward to a limited edition ZombiU Wii U Premium Pack with Black Wii U console and Wii U GamePad and Pro Controller, has a recommended retail price of RRP R4,999*.

For existing Wii owners, all first party Wii peripherals will be compatible with the Wii U console. With neither hardware pack including a Wii Remote Plus controller, Wii owners won’t need to repurchase peripherals they already own. For players who don’t already own a Wii console, Nintendo has created a Wii Remote Plus Additional Set containing a Wii Remote Plus controller, Nunchuk and sensor bar, has a recommended retail price of RRP R899*.

Software titles, New Super Mario Bros. U has a recommended retail price of RRP R599 and Nintendo Land RRP R499. Other Wii U games to look forward to at launch and within the launch window*** include:
