So you thought that just because Batman was a fictional character that he wouldn’t be able to swoop you up in the darkness and punish you for your evil ways.
Well, you are wrong because it seems that Eidos and Rocksteady have laid down a trap in their game code to catch anyone out who is playing a pirated copy. When it comes to top notch criminal-catchers, there are very few who can keep up with the combined intelligence and gadgetry that Batman offers.
One of the few things that is better than Batman at catching people is the utter stupidity of those people in question. So how does the dark knight do it?
This is actually quite the funny story. You see, someone went to Eidos support to ask about an issue that he had with the game and was soon completely pwned by Eidos support. It went like this
The filfthy pirate that contacted support: Cheshirec_the_cat
Hi!
I’ve got a problem when it’s time to use Batman’s glide in the game. When I hold <space> , like it’s said to jump from one platform to another, Batman tries to open his wings again and again instead of gliding. So he fels down in a poisoning gas. If somebody could tel me, what should I do there.
Batman’s inside guy at Eidos: Keir
The problem you have encountered is a hook in the copy protection, to catch out people who try and download cracked versions of the game for free.
It’s not a bug in the game’s code, it’s a bug in your moral code
Firstly, may I just say, burn!
Now sure, this is funny enough as it is, with this moron getting caught out and also realising that he cannot continue playing without an original copy but this story just gets way better.
What kind of a moron contacts Eidos support for a problem that he is having with a game that has not even been released yet.
Batman must get so annoyed at all those damned criminals that shoot themselves in the foot before he even gets there. Well done, idiot.

Pwnd. Nice one Eidos. I wonder if it performs a CD check, or some sort of internet check to register that it’s cracked.
